Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR)

The primary role that the RPR plays is to observe if the conditions of a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) authorisation are being met and to take action if the relevant person is objecting to their loss of liberty or placement.

We provide paid Relevant Person’s Representative’s (RPR), if there are no relatives or friends available or appropriate to fulfil this role.

Eligibility

aged over 18

live in a care home or hospital

referred by DoLS office with forms 1, 3, 4 and 5.

have a DoLS authorisation in place

lacks capacity in relation to their care and/or treatment/accommodation.
