What is Easy Read?
Advocacy for All Easy Read team is a group of people with learning difficulties who are experts in easy read. Easy Read is a way of making written information easier to understand.
Easy Read documents usually combine short sentences that are free of jargon, with simple, clear images to help explain the content.
1.5 million people have a learning disability in the UK, so it is increasingly important to simplify language wherever possible, with any necessary complicated words or terms explained.
Easy read is often useful for people with learning disabilities, and may be beneficial for people with other conditions affecting how they process information. Please see below for leaflet explaining the service in more detail:
